A familiar and respected figure in oil and gas industry in India and abroad, he is considered as a proponent of gas marketing and was involved from inception in development of LNG business in the country. He specialises in infrastructure development, formulating business strategy & policies, national and international level partnerships and dispute resolution. Starting his career with ONGC, he has worked in top management positions in GAIL, Petronet LNG Ltd and Reliance Industries Ltd
An ex-Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, he has put in about 25 years handling various assignments in the State Government as well as Central Government, including a tenure in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. During Government service, he handled several strategic and key policy matters of national and international importance. Since leaving the Government service in 2008, he is working as a Consultant in Oil and Gas, Energy and Infrastructure sectors.
